Terms of Service

These Terms of Service explain how Hayley Leyshon Education Consultancy works with families, schools, alternative provision providers and other organisations.

By booking, commissioning or purchasing a service, you agree to these terms together with any specific fees, proposal or scope of work agreed with you.

My services

I provide educational services including:

• SEND and inclusion consultancy
• parent advocacy and meeting support
• educational document review
• school improvement and strategic consultancy
• alternative provision development and quality assurance
• training and professional development

educational workbooks and digital resources.

The exact nature, scope and cost of any commissioned work will be agreed before substantial work begins.

Parent advocacy

Parent advocacy is intended to help families understand educational processes, communicate their child’s needs and participate confidently in discussions with schools, local authorities and other professionals.

My approach is collaborative and child-centred. Advocacy is about helping families be heard and understood while supporting constructive relationships with education professionals.

I provide educational advocacy, not legal representation. Information about SEND legislation, EHCP processes, exclusions, attendance or statutory guidance should not be treated as a substitute for specialist legal advice.

Where appropriate, I may recommend seeking advice from a solicitor or another suitably qualified professional.

Outcomes

I will provide services with reasonable care, skill and professional judgement.

However, I cannot guarantee a particular outcome. Decisions about matters such as EHCPs, funding, placements, exclusions, attendance arrangements and provision ultimately rest with the relevant school, local authority, tribunal or other responsible body.

Fees and payment

Fees and payment arrangements will be made clear before work begins.

Where additional work falls significantly outside the agreed scope, I will discuss this with you before undertaking substantial additional chargeable work.

Invoices should be paid within the period stated on the invoice. I reserve the right to pause ongoing work where payment is significantly overdue.

Appointments and cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to rearrange or cancel an appointment.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged where the time cannot reasonably be reallocated.

I recognise that circumstances involving children and families can change unexpectedly and will always aim to approach unavoidable situations reasonably.

Time-sensitive matters

Hayley Leyshon Education Consultancy is not an emergency service and immediate availability cannot be guaranteed.

If your enquiry relates to an upcoming meeting, exclusion, appeal, statutory deadline or another time-sensitive matter, please tell me the relevant date when contacting me. I will confirm whether I have capacity to support you within that timeframe.

Confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding

Personal information is handled in accordance with my Privacy Notice and UK data protection requirements.

Information shared with me will normally be treated confidentially. However, information may need to be shared where I believe a child or another person may be at risk of significant harm, or where disclosure is required by law.

The welfare of children and young people will always take priority.

Working with schools and organisations

Schools, alternative provisions and other organisations remain responsible for their own statutory duties, safeguarding responsibilities, policies, regulatory compliance and decisions concerning individual pupils.

My consultancy and recommendations are intended to support professional decision-making rather than replace those responsibilities.

Digital resources and intellectual property

Workbooks, guides, frameworks, training materials, templates and other resources remain the intellectual property of Hayley Leyshon Education Consultancy unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Resources may be used according to the licence purchased but must not be resold, publicly distributed, uploaded to shared resource libraries or reproduced commercially without permission.

Purchasing a resource does not transfer copyright ownership.

Because digital products may be available for immediate download, cancellation rights may be affected once downloading or access begins. This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty or misdescribed.

Professional boundaries

My role is educational. I do not provide medical diagnosis, psychological therapy, counselling or legal representation.

Where a client’s needs fall outside my professional remit, I may recommend seeking support from another appropriately qualified professional.

Ending an agreement

Either party may end an ongoing consultancy or advocacy arrangement with reasonable notice.

I may pause or end work where invoices remain unpaid, professional boundaries cannot reasonably be maintained, the work moves beyond my professional remit, or continuing would create a professional, ethical, safeguarding or legal concern.

Fees already incurred for completed work remain payable.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of my service, please contact me so that I have an opportunity to understand and address your concerns.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be published on this website.
